George Muruka is a Principal Consultant in MicroSave’s Private Sector Development Domain in Kenya. His area of competence is research, innovations and livelihoods development. He specifically consults in financial services and product development, agricultural value chains upgrades, environmental conservation and livelihoods enhancement for low income people in developing countries. With 13 years of experience in microfinance operations and research, he supports institutions to develop financial products, undertake project evaluations and assessments through qualitative and quantitative research and effectively manages action research projects. He has experience working with banks, MFIs, SACCOs and grassroots savings groups in Africa. He has given consultancy to various institutions in East and West Africa specifically in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Somalia, Ghana, Nigeria and Sierra Leone. Further, he has exposure to livelihoods enhancements and microfinance projects in South Africa, The UK, USA, Denmark, Belgium, India and The Philippines through study visits and conferences.
