Responsibilities:- 

  • The Senior Executive -HR for Africa is responsible for maintaining effective and relevant HR practices and systems for providing services to MicroSave Africa staff in order to realise MicroSave’s Regional and Strategic HR objectives.

  • The role supports building the company’s reputation both as a provider of services to clients and as an employer of choice.

  • This position is responsible for continuously improving the HR services and systems and adapting these to meet the needs of MicroSave that are locally relevant. This will include drawing on best practice and adapting and applying these systems and processes to MicroSave’s Regional context.

  • This role is responsible for providing line-management support within the broader MicroSave HR organisation, and for ensuring the function’s compliance with institutional policies and processes. 

Detailed Job responsiblities include:-

  • Talent Acquisition :- Support Recruitment, Search and Selection for MicroSave Africa offices, as per established recruitment process and organisational requirements. 

  • Appointments:- Issuing Letters of Appointment/ Contract to selected individuals, in accordance with the agreed terms between the company and the successful incumbent, and per MicroSave standard contractual terms.

  • Employee On-boarding:- Providing orientation and induction as per MicroSave’s standards to newly appointed staff members and working with the DL/PGL for the induction process and buddy programme.

  • Performance Management :- Assisting in managing MicroSave’s Performance Management System for Africa employees

  • Learning & Development :- Work with Central HR P&OE team in identification of training needs, design of learning and development interventions and curriculum, and identifying local resources for delivery.

  • HR Policies:-  upgrades, modifications or introduction of new policies, as applicable, keeping market factors and company budgets as important underlying considerations.

  • Staff Compensation:-Provide input to Central HR Operations team and partner towards developing annual salary ranges, compensation benchmarking exercises and annual compensation increases for staff.

  • Database and Reporting:-Keep employee records and database for Africa staff updated and provide timely and accurate inputs to Central HR team leading to production of HR Dashboard and Reports, including but not limited to Headcount, Attrition and Compensation related reports.

  • Employee Communications & Engagement:-Drive communications with staff effectively to provide updates on all people related matters. For any communications that are global or cross-cutting in nature, partner with the Central HR team in India in the design and roll-out of such communications.

  • Staff Welfare:-Facilitate creation and maintenance of a conducive work environment (e.g. ensuring work tools and facilities are available for staff as and when required) in Kenya office by providing administrative oversight, guidance and support to the administrative unit.

 Academic/ professional qualifications-:
  • Bachelor degree in Human Resources Management or relevant degree with professional HR qualification.

Experience:-
  • 6-8 years progressive experience in human capital management preferably in a consulting or financial inclusion environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to engage productively with all levels of staff to influence, persuade and negotiate

Requirements:-
  • Demonstrated experience of translating strategies into operational plansfor implementation, with adequate monitoring mechanisms
  • Demonstrated experience of influencing and persuading multiple stakeholders by offering different perspectives and alternative options whilst being mindful of operational and cultural needs and difference
  • Demonstrated experience of operating in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic and multi-country environment
  • Demonstrated experience of engaging with a young, energetic and ambitious workforce. with average age less than 35 years
