Abstract:

In this interview part-1, MicroSave accesses the situation in Andhra Pradesh post MFI crisis in the state. Talking to the client, MicroSave finds that clients want to take loans from MFIs as in the past. Sharing the experience with the local MFI, CRESA, a client lauds the progress her village due to the loans received from the MFI.  Further she adds that due to the absence of loans villagers have gone back to moneylenders even though they charge exorbitant interest rates.
