Joyce C. Murithi is a Manager in the Inclusive Finance and Banking domain with insightful understanding of financial sector in various markets in Africa. She has extensive experience in financial product development, corporate and product marketing strategies formulation, transformation of MFIs and credit. Joyce has also conducted numerous market researches in Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania, Nigeria and Malawi for financial institutions, mobile money operators and non-financial providers including NGOs. Her other areas of interest are in digital financial services, social performance management (SPM), training and youth inclusive financial services.

  • Micro-Insurance Market Research for Britam in Kenya, funded by USAID FIRM: Market research to refine and reposition the micro insurance products as well as review the existing delivery channels. (2015)
  • Assessment of Agent Networks in Nigeria, funded by the Bill and Melinda gates Foundation (BMGF): Assessed three agent networks in Nigeria to assess their progress in agent network deployment. Culminated in the launch of the Nigeria Country report. (2014)
  • Equity Bank Assignments in Kenya, funded by BMGF: Market research training, Agent Management System development, Customer and Channel (agency channel) Satisfaction Tool development, and, identification and refinement of e-payment solutions.(2013-2015)
  • Deposit mobilisation of Access Bank in Tanzania, funded by REGMIFA: Product review and Image analysis with a view of improving deposit mobilisation at the bank (2013)

Before joining MicroSave, Joyce worked for over 6 years with Kenya Women Microfinance Bank (KWMB), a leading microfinance institution where she led teams that focused on improving portfolio quality, portfolio growth, mobilizing deposits and overall efficiency of branch operations.  Joyce holds a double Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Business Administration from Daystar University, Kenya.
