Essential Skills

The applicant should have experience in business development, tender or procurement management, proposal writing, database management, project management, executive assistance, and technical writing Candidates should have experience in international development in consulting, banking, financial sector, or allied areas. The candidate also should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word and Excel.

Description

As an Assistant Manager, the team member will report to the Senior Manager/ Manager and support the Strategic Initiatives/ Business Development team. The incumbent will support in the identification of bid opportunities by scouting various donors/ client websites, support proposal development process in coordination with technical teams, manage documentation and upkeep of databases in MS-Excel and MS-Word, carry out donor, competitor, and partner analysis, and preferably undertake some independent business development efforts among donors and strategic partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Scanning and scouting for new business opportunities and tenders across various clients and donors’ websites,
  • Comprehending RFPs, Terms of Reference (ToRs), Expression of Interest (EOIs), and coordination with technical teams for end-to-end EOI and proposal development,
  • Understanding MSCs past work/projects and where and how these projects are relevant to the RFPs/EOIs
  • Proactive scouting of donors, strategic partners, and consultants, and their documentation; putting effort into nurturing and building said relationships,
  • Prepare compelling capability statements and pitch decks for business development,
  • Analyze data related to proposal submissions, win rates, opportunities and present the analysis articulately to the senior management,
  • Maintain and update various databases owned by SI in MS Word, MS Excel, coordinating with technical teams for updating databases,
  • Support in the preparation of reports (MS Excel or MS Word), donor scoping, competitor analysis, collaterals, and other documents,
  • Coordination and verbal or written communication with external consultants or associates for existing or prospective opportunities, as and when required,
  • Support in building MSC’s brand presence in emerging areas, which include directly liaising with internal points of contact from MSC’s emerging area groups, besides organizing and supporting during meetings,
  • Coordination with internal teams-Administration, Knowledge Management, Finance/Legal as per work requirements,
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualification:

  • Bachelors/ Master’s Degree in English, Business Management, or equivalent fields.

Skills and competencies:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and language (English) skills,
  • Proficiency in MS-Word and MS-Excel,
  • Knowledge of financial services sector and/or financial inclusion in developing countries/ role of digital in financial inclusion and general awareness about developments within the sector is desirable,
  • Experience in high level or C-level executive search/ facilitating partnerships/ business development is an added advantage,
  • Willingness to work in a demanding, and result-oriented team environment where priorities can change frequently,
  • Ability to work in a deadline-bound environment and beyond regular working hours, as and when required
    Good team player and ability to work with a global team,
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written format.
