Essential Skills

The candidate should have experience in areas like Health and Nutrition centric programs, designing strategy and public policy design for social welfare programs, policy and Management, project management, business development and should have existing relationships with government, multilateral agencies, donor agencies, think tanks and industry.



The Consultant – Public Health, will support in identification and bidding for new projects in different geographies particularly Indonesia, delivery of assignments typically focussed on the technical support to clients including governments, development agencies, donors, and other institutions. He/she will also provide support and guidance to staff on assignments. The primary focus of this role is to contribute to the writing of proposals, participate in the bidding, and develop new partnerships.

The Consultant – Public Health, will also contribute to:

  • Scope opportunities for MSC’s foray into consulting and research in Health and Nutrition domain in Indonesia as well as in the region,
  • Build relationships and networks with relevant government agencies, funders, international development agencies, and private sector engagement in delivering health and nutrition services to the last mile,
  • Identify and support the development and submission of proposals to generate business,
  • Author/ Co-author thematic publications to be developed from field experiences (Focus notes/Briefing notes),
  • Actively engage in Marketing Activities and participate in Digital Media dialogues (blogs, discussion forums, etc.).

Desired experience:

  • Should have experience in development and social sector with a consulting firm, think tank, donor/ development agency, research organization, National or International governments. Donor experience preferred,
  • Technical knowledge and field experience in health, nutrition, and other social sector programs,
  • Familiarity with the donor landscape, key stakeholders, and relevant government policies/strategies,
  • Excellent communication skills, writing skills, presentation skills, research skills (primary and secondary), intellectual curiosity, and passion for the social and development sector.


  • Professional degree in healthcare preferably MD or MPH with graduation in medicine or related fields, MBA Healthcare; Masters in Public Policy, sociology or related areas,
  • Other relevant professional qualifications in line with areas of specialization

Skills and competencies:

  • Ability to build client relationships and contribute to business development,
  • Ability to lead small assignments with minimal supervision,
  • Strong attention to detail,
  • Strong field orientation and proven interpersonal skills,
  • Good spoken and written English,
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
