Description

Responsibilities:

  • To lead work to transform and optimize MSC’s HR function to a more process-driven, digital technologies (e.g. social media-savvy, cloud-based platforms) -enabled organization to position MSC as a work-place of the future. Will recommend appropriate digital solutions for the overall HR function, and sub-functions, within the context of MSC’s culture and context and take responsibility for implementing the same in liaison with the CHRO and business partners.
  • To optimize the use of partners, social media, and other technology to improve recruitment, on-boarding, exit processes, appraisals, personal development and employee engagement. Within the context of social media, the incumbent will take responsibility towards optimal use and leverage of channels to drive high-quality response generation in Talent Acquisition for MSC.
  • To engage with the senior management team to enhance the HR department’s productivity and ability to engage with the millennial workforce. In keeping with current employee engagement practices relevant to a consulting and knowledge-based environment, and meaningful for the young workforce, the incumbent will recommend and implement an engagement and communication programme aimed to lift MSC as a dynamic and futuristic workplace.
  • To strengthen and streamline all processes and procedures and ensure six sigma quality. Will make an assessment, detailed study and analysis of the current HR systems and processes and recommend changes as appropriate, with a view to driving towards robust systems, productivity and quality.
  • In broader terms, the HR Manager is responsible for maintaining effective and relevant HR practices and systems to support MSC’s mission and values, especially in the areas relating to Talent Acquisition, Talent Engagement, Talent Development and work with HR and business colleagues in building a Great Place to Work. The role supports building the company’s reputation both as a provider of services to clients and as an employer of choice.
  • This position is responsible for continuously improving and supporting the HR services and systems and adapting these to meet the needs of MSC. This role is responsible for supporting the broader MSC HR organisation, and for ensuring the function’s compliance with institutional policies and processes.

Academic/ professional qualifications:

  • Post-Graduate degree in Human Resources Management, preferably with Bachelors in Engineering.

Experience and requirements:

  • >5 years’ experience in managing operational HR in knowledge-based service industries (e.g. consulting companies, IT companies, advertising/marketing bureau etc.) with high value/demanding staff
  • Experience with developing, implementing and monitoring processes and incentivizing adherence to procedures
  • Experience with using social media and technology to optimize HR recruitment and employee engagement
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to engage productively with all levels of staff to influence, persuade and negotiate
  • Experience and ability to operate in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic and multi-country environment
