Job Summary

The candidate will work with the Government and Social Impact (GSI) team of MSC on a strategic assignment with NITI Aayog. MSC is supporting NITI Aayog to establish a global centre for digital financial inclusion. This Centre will be set up as an intergovernmental organization with headquarter in India. The Centre will work with other countries as well as state governments within India to advance and accelerate the pace of digital financial inclusion.

Essential Skills

Experience in working with a consulting firm, government, multilateral/bilateral agency, development agency, financial institution, regulator, research organization (global experience preferred)


Job Summary:-

  • Lead a large team to support:
    • Planning the strategy, roadmap and operating model for the proposed center
    • On-boarding the core team of the Centre to run the Secretariat
    • Designing the offerings under various pillars of the centre
    • Collaborating with various government departments, regulators, private sector partners, international organizations and governments
    • Planning the outreach and brand building activities within and outside India
    • Participation in key international events including the UN Conventions, World Economic Forum, etc.
    • Hosting delegations from governments and planning exposure visits
  • Support GSI team in business development
    • Writing/reviewing proposals and pitches
    • Preparing related collaterals including case studies
  • Support GSI team in planning and executing assignments with Government
  • Training and capacity building of team members in MSC
  • Publish blogs, articles to promote MSC’s work in national and international media
  • Participate in relevant events, conferences to represent MSC

Qualifications and Competencies:

Academic/ professional qualifications:

  • Doctorate/Masters in Business Administration/Public Policy/Economics/Public Administration or related field from a top tier institute (Ivey League qualification preferred)
  • Other relevant professional qualifications in line with areas of specialization


  • 9-14 years’ experience in working with a consulting firm, government, multi-lateral/bilateral agency, development agency, financial institution, regulator, research organization (global experience preferred)
  • Experience in working with the government on large transformational programs
  • Deep understanding of digital financial inclusion in India and globally is a must. Also, experience in one or more of the following functional areas –
  • Strategy, planning and public policy design
  • Process reengineering and digitization
  • Social welfare program implementation
  • Social protection
  • Direct benefit transfer
  • Public finance and expenditure
  • Monitoring and evaluation
  • Human-centered design
  • Project management
  • Experience of handling a large team
  • Excellent communication skills, writing skills, presentation skills, research skills, intellectual curiosity and passion for financial inclusion, social and development sector
  • Existing relationships with government, multilateral agencies, donor agencies, think tanks and industry

Skills and competences:

  • Ability to work with senior most government officers and CXOs in the private sector
  • Ability to lead assignments involving diverse project teams and to work with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power point
  • Leadership skills, decision-making skills, problem-solving skills, people-management skills
  • Excellent spoken and written English
