Ali has most recently worked in a feasibility study of the microinsurance market for ELAN, funded by Adam Smith International in Democratic Republic of the Congo. The study aimed to promote the development of an ecosystem that is conducive to the private sector (2018). He has also been a part of Project CMA (Collateral Management Agreement), funded by DFID in DRC. The project aimed to increase the revenue of agricultural stakeholders in the value chain through better access to financing from banks and commercial activities (2017-2018).
Before joining MSC, Ali supported economic growth projects through market system changes by developing warrantage, leasing, and insurance products for low-income groups as part of the Elan DRC project. Ali has also worked on a project for financing and expanding small and medium-sized enterprises in Gabon, a project funded by AfDB and IFC. The project helped to build the capacity of MSMEs in the country and undertake activities to promote the overall growth of the sector. He holds a Master’s degree in Technical Accounting and Financial Science from the Paris V Conservatory of Arts and Crafts. He is fluent in French and has a fair knowledge of English.
