As part of the Voices of India’s MSMEs project (with support from Omidyar Network), MSC conducted a diaries research on IEs to understand their financial lives, business management practices, supply chain, and gender nuances, among other aspects. We chose and tracked 25 informal microenterprises for this research from five locations across India. We selected five IEs from each site—Delhi NCR, Surat (Gujarat), Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Patna (Bihar), and Hyderabad (Telangana).
