Chindu Chandran

Manager

Dr. Chindu Chandran is a Manager in MSC’s Climate Change and Sustainability domain. She is a sustainability and climate professional with more than 11 years of cross-sector experience that spans policy advisory, ESG standards, sustainability reporting, climate finance, sustainable tourism, and applied research. She has worked across India, South Asia, and Europe. Her work has involved close engagement with national regulators, professional bodies, academic institutions, private sector entities, and civil society organizations. Her areas of expertise include ESG and sustainability reporting, such as BRSR, ISSB, IFRS S1/S2, and integrated reporting. She has proven expertise in sustainability assurance and ethics, climate finance and impact financing, carbon accounting and GHG inventories, policy and regulatory research, and capacity building. Chindu also has extensive experience in standards and framework development, regulatory gap analysis, feasibility assessments, and stakeholder consultations, with a strong ability to translate complex sustainability requirements into practical implementation tools and guidance.

Before she joined MSC, Chindu worked with the Sustainability Reporting Standards Board (SRSB) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) as a Sustainability Manager. She also served as Secretary to expert groups on impact financing and private equity in accounting firms. Earlier in her career, she worked extensively in sustainable tourism certification and auditing, which included third-party sustainability audits and GSTC-aligned certification programs across protected and ecologically sensitive landscapes in South Asia. She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and a Master of Science in Natural Resource Management (NRM) from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi. She is fluent in English and Hindi, with conversational proficiency in Malayalam.
