On 29th May 2025, MSC hosted a five-day exposure visit for the Philippines’ MiDAS delegation under the Learning Across Borders (LaB) initiative, supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). This visit strengthened institutional capacity and fostered cross-border knowledge sharing in microfinance information systems.
The delegation engaged with India’s well-established microfinance ecosystem, such as industry associations, financial institutions, and credit bureaus. These interactions enabled participants to understand regulatory frameworks, industry collaboration models, and the operational dynamics of credit assessment at headquarters and field levels.
The visit also provided exposure to credit bureau operations, data management practices, and product development strategies. Discussions focused on digital transformation, credit information sharing, risk mitigation, and responsible finance practices that have contributed to the growth and resilience of India’s microfinance sector.
This initiative provided the delegation with valuable insights that can be adapted to the Philippines’ context. The program strengthened institutional knowledge, enhanced understanding of scalable microfinance systems, and supported efforts to advance financial inclusion through data-driven and responsible lending practices.
