From 17th to 22nd March 2025, the Government of India hosted a delegation from Indonesia for a learning exchange on Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI). MSC served as the knowledge partner under the South-South cooperation framework, in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Gates Foundation. The exchange shared India’s experience in digital identity, payments infrastructure, and government-to-person (G2P) service delivery.
The program provided participants with a comprehensive overview of India’s DPI ecosystem, including the Jan Dhan-Aadhaar-Mobile (JAM) Trinity, the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), and the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) systems. Delegates engaged with key institutions, such as MeitY, UIDAI, RBI, NPCI, and the DBT Mission, to understand how integrated digital systems enable financial inclusion, transparent service delivery, and efficient social protection.
The exchange included field visits to Aadhaar centers, Fair Price Shops, and payment points to observe ground-level implementation. Sessions focused on interoperability across social registries, payment platforms, and government programs. These interactions highlighted how coordinated governance and technology support can build scalable DPI ecosystems.
Indonesia gained practical insights to inform its priority areas, which include social assistance distribution, tax revenue collection, data exchange, and beneficiary targeting. The exchange strengthened bilateral collaboration and demonstrated the value of shared learning in building inclusive and citizen-centric digital infrastructure.
