Responsibilities:
The Senior Agri Lead –
Markets, Trading & Private Sector Partnerships will be responsible for the
following:
Market
Linkages, Trading & Price Discovery:
- Design and support
implementation of structured trading mechanisms for FPCs, including
aggregation, grading, quality assaying, warehousing, logistics, and payment
systems.
- Facilitate FPC
participation in organized markets, digital trading platforms, and
institutional procurement channels, as appropriate.
- Support price discovery,
negotiation, and contract structuring with buyers to improve price realization
and reduce volatility.
- Assist in putting in place
suitable risk mitigation mechanisms, including advance payments, buyer-linked
assurances, and quality-based pricing.
Private
Sector Partnerships & Commercial Engagement:
- Identify and engage
private sector buyers, processors, agri-tech platforms, and institutional
market participants.
- Support formalization of
MoUs, supply agreements, and trading partnerships with private sector entities.
- Work towards strengthening
repeat and scalable commercial relationships for participating FPCs.
FPC
Business Development & Enterprise Strengthening:
- Support FPC Boards and
management teams in strengthening market-facing and enterprise-oriented
operations.
- Guide FPCs on business
planning, crop and commodity prioritization, cost structures, margin analysis,
and working capital planning.
Finance,
Working Capital & Trade Enablement:
- Coordinate with financial
institutions to facilitate working capital and trade finance aligned with
trading cycles.
Monitoring,
Reporting & Knowledge Management:
- Ensure regular monitoring
and reporting of market linkage and trading-related performance indicators.
- Support documentation of
learnings, case studies, and scalable market linkage models.
Team
Management & Communication:
- Provide technical guidance
and mentoring to district and zonal teams on market linkage and buyer
engagement activities.
- Maintain effective
communication with program leadership and key stakeholders on progress, risks,
and emerging opportunities.
