Job Description
At MSC’s Government Advisory practice, you will work
at the forefront of public systems reform, by partnering with governments,
development agencies, and foundations to strengthen municipal finance,
governance, digital public infrastructure, climate resilience, and WASH
systems. This role offers early ownership of high-impact work streams, direct
engagement with senior policymakers, and exposure to complex, system-level
transformation initiatives that affect millions of citizens. If you are

Business Execution:
Lead
or assist with planning, managing, and delivering assignments for clients
Plan
and execute assignments with utmost due diligence
Support
other team members in project delivery and execution
Build
rapport with client teams for the successful execution of assignments
Assist
in the review of deliverables by other team members
Develop
collaterals such as blogs, briefing notes, training modules, etc., based on
learnings from projects and sector knowledge.
Business
development:
Support
the team in business development efforts to grow and expand the capabilities’s (GovAd)
offerings at MSC,
Engage
with potential funders and clients in related sectors
Develop
proposals, pitches, and concept notes for suitable clients/donors
Participate
in/organize relevant events, conferences, and networking to represent MSC.
Professional
development:
Assist
and support the development of other staff by creating mentoring opportunities
and providing advice where appropriate.
Take
ownership of self-development by acquiring skills and knowledge that add value
to the organization.
Requirements
Academic/professional qualifications:
A Master's/Postgraduate
degree in Urban Planning/Urban Management/Rural Management/Public Policy/Natural
Resource Management/Water Resources Management/Environmental Engineering or
related field
Other
relevant professional qualifications in line with areas of specialisation.
Essential experience:
6+
years of experience working with an urban/public policy/development consulting
firm/think tank
Experience
and understanding of core urban planning/public systems/WASH/social inclusion and
related fields.
Experience
in one or more of the following functional areas
Urban resilience
WASH
and environmental systems
Urban
livelihoods
Strategy,
planning, and public policy design
Social
welfare program implementation
Experience
in handling teams
Handling
relationships with government, multilateral agencies, donor agencies, think
tanks, and industry.
