Rifki Akbari is a Senior Manager in MSC’s Country Program Development domain in Indonesia, with 15+ years of expertise in development planning, financial inclusion, and policy formulation. Rifki has worked on various projects with government, bilateral and multilateral organizations, banks, FinTechs, tech companies, social businesses, and think tanks. Rifki’s areas of expertise include development of national strategies on financial inclusion, digital identity, branchless banking, G2P programs, financial literacy, behavioral research, and project and program management. His work entails the improvement of public services through innovation, behavioral insights, and evidence-based insights.

Before joining MSC, Rifki Akbari was a Program Manager at Indonesia’s National Council for Financial Inclusion. In this capacity, he assumed diverse roles, which included leading coordination efforts with various government institutions and the FinTech industry, development of national strategies on financial inclusion, and implementation of pilot projects to increase access and usage of financial products and services for microentrepreneurs, smallholder fishermen, and women migrant workers. He holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies from Melbourne University, Australia. He is fluent in English and Indonesian.
