Ashwin Shukla
AssociateAshwin Shukla is an Associate in MSC’s Banking, Financial Services and Insurance Capability. He is currently engaged in multiple high-impact projects. He is supporting gender-responsive diagnostics and market research for IFC on women’s insurance in Jharkhand and Odisha, with a focus on inclusive insurance product design. He is also working on institutional strengthening of Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) to expand MSME credit through credit readiness assessments, capacity-building initiatives, and product strategy development. In parallel, he is contributing to projects with India Post Payments Bank aimed at enhancing staff advisory capabilities through structured training, insurance product analysis, and customer-segment-focused promotion strategies. He is part of a multi-country responsible finance initiative focused on designing gender-responsive education finance solutions for adolescent girls across Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Additionally, he is supporting microfinance institutions in building operational capacity to design, pilot, and scale climate-resilient and parametric microinsurance solutions. He is responsible for developing toolkits for field research, analyzing data, generating reports, and visualizing insights for clients and internal teams. He has hands-on experience with dashboards and data analysis tools and is certified in Power BI and financial modelling from Grant Thornton. His expertise spans financial sector market diagnostics and primary research, institutional and credit readiness assessments for banking institutions, MSME and retail credit portfolio analysis, operational and branch-level performance assessment, development of capacity-building and training frameworks for bank staff and management, product and process evaluation for financial institutions, multi-country comparative market analysis, design of implementation toolkits and management reporting frameworks, and data analysis and dashboard-driven decision support for strategic and operational decision-making. Before joining MSC, Ashwin has done internship at Harman International (a Samsung company), as a business analyst intern with the operations team. His key responsibility was to develop and optimize Power BI dashboards to support decision-making across functions such as budget management, employee timesheet tracking, and project allocation monitoring. The experience sharpened his skills in data visualization, stakeholder communication, and impact-driven reporting, and deepened his ability to translate business needs into analytical solutions. He holds master’s degree with specialisation in Business Administration from the Xavier Institute of Management in year 2025. Prior to this he has also done Diploma in Microfinance and Entrepreneurship (DME) from FMS BHU in year 2022. He is fluent in Hindi and English.
