Maimuna have worked as an intern at the State Capitial in Atlanta Georgia, USA. She has been nominated twice as the "Women of Vision and Courage" in Minnesota University, Mankato twice for her awareness initiatives and contribution for her community and international students in Minnesota State University Mankato, Minnesota. She is also a painter and has donated two of her paintings to the university back in Mankato to represent Bangladeshi women and artists. Besides working in BURO Bangladesh, she is also currently serving as the current UN chair and advocacy co-chair for Zonta International ( Sonargaon District).
