Maimuna Zahra Fariha

Research Officer, BURO Bangladesh

Maimuna Zahra Fariha is a Research Officer at BURO Bangladesh. She previously served as a Teaching Assistant at the Minnesota State University, Mankato, Minnesota, USA (2021–2023), and as a Research Assistant at the James P. Grant School of Public Health, BRAC, Dhaka, Bangladesh (2019–2021). She holds a Bachelor of Science from Minnesota State University, a Master of Public Health from North South University in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and a Master of Science in Gender and Women Studies from Minnesota State University. Maimuna worked as an intern at the State Capitol in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. She has been nominated twice as a woman of vision and courage at Minnesota State University for her awareness initiatives and contributions to her community and to international students. 

She paints and donated two of her paintings to the University of Mankato to represent Bangladeshi women and artists. Besides her role at BURO Bangladesh, she currently serves as the UN Chair and Advocacy Co-chair for Zonta International, Sonargaon District, Bangladesh.
