Essential Skills:
Experience ideally acquired in a consulting firm, a reputable NGO, a private sector organization, or through direct participation in large-scale government programs dedicated to women's economic empowerment.
Demonstrate practical knowledge and experience in projects related to the care economy and gender-based violence. Skilfully compile, analyse, and interpret data on gender and women's economic empowerment issues through research, and produce high-quality reports.
Detailed Responsibilities:
The Assistant Manager is crucial in advancing MSC's goals by delivering outstanding client services and addressing specific project and situational needs. They assist the team lead by overseeing tasks or work streams within projects or assignments, with a primary focus on offering technical support in various areas.
Key roles and responsibilities include:
Supporting consulting projects focused on women's socio-economic inclusion and empowerment. This involves expanding the knowledge base, drafting concepts, and working on projects related to the care economy and gender-based violence. Additionally, conducting research to compile, analyse, and interpret gender and Women's Economic Empowerment (WEE) issues and statistical data, and preparing high-quality reports.
Coordinating with various domains and country teams within MSC on gender-related matters, providing strategic and design inputs to ensure gender issues are appropriately identified and addressed.
Developing and submitting proposals to generate business.
Contributing to the development of MSC’s tool kits and other publications.
Business Execution :
Lead or assist in planning and implementing medium to large technical assistance assignments.
Conduct set-up and debrief meetings for assignments where responsible.
Establish and maintain relationships with various client organization contacts to ensure successful assignment execution.
Plan and carry out assignments with the highest level of diligence.
Supervise and contribute to data and information analysis and report writing processes.
Review delivered training courses, prepared research papers, developed curriculums, and technical assistance provided to clients.
Business Development :
Cultivate relationships with current and prospective clients.
Take initiatives to enhance client relationships.
Develop and submit proposals to generate business within the domain.
Represent MSC at conferences and similar events.
Author or co-author thematic publications based on field experiences (e.g., focus notes, briefing notes).
Actively participate in marketing activities and engage in digital media dialogues (e.g., blogs, discussion forums).
Requirements
Qualifications :
Obtain a Master’s degree from a recognized university or college.
Fields of study include rural management, development studies, social work, entrepreneurship, finance, economics, or related disciplines.
