Job Description


Business Execution

 

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of research and technical assistance assignments.
  • Lead debriefing sessions for assigned projects and assignments.
  • Build strong client relationships to ensure smooth execution of assignments.
  • Ensure high-quality execution of projects through careful planning and attention to detail.
  • Take the lead in writing reports and analyzing data, ensuring clear and actionable insights.
  • Review training materials, research papers, curricula, and technical assistance provided to clients.
  • Contribute to the development of MSC’s toolkits, publications, and other resources.

 

Business Development

 

  • Proactively track requests for proposals and, where applicable, initiate client relationships.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring the delivery of high-quality results.
  • Assist in the development of proposals to generate business for the Climate Change and Sustainability practice area.
  • Represent MSC at conferences and events to enhance visibility and establish new partnerships.
  • Contribute to thematic publications, including Focus Notes and Briefing Notes, based on field experiences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create blogs, reports, and other publications for external distribution.
  • Support MSC in organizing regular meetings, workshops, and seminars on topics related to climate change and sustainability.

Capacity Development

 

  • Conduct "Quality of Delivery" and Feedback assessments with team members after assignments, following quality control guidelines.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members and peers, supporting their professional growth and development.
  • Share knowledge and foster a culture of continuous learning within the team.
  • Take responsibility for your own professional development by acquiring new skills and knowledge that contribute to the organization’s success



Requirements

Total Experience:
8+ years

Qualifications:
MBA or Master’s degree in Climate Change, Natural Resource Management, Sustainability, Renewable Energy, Climate Finance, Agriculture, Rural Development, Economics, Public Policy, Social Work, or related fields.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and research skills, including technical writing, presentation, and data-driven analysis.

  • Experience in one or more of the following sectors: climate change mitigation, adaptation & resilience, climate finance, MSMEs, agriculture, food security, rural development, urban planning, and ESG.
    Preference will be given to candidates with experience in climate change mitigation, finance, and MSME development.

  • Exposure to one or more functional areas such as:

    • Climate Mitigation & Energy Transition

    • Climate Change Adaptation & Resilience

    • Inclusive Finance and Climate Change

    • Climate Smart Agriculture

    • Research & Framework Development

    • Data Collection & Field Research (using diverse methods)

    • Data Analysis & Visualization (including GIS tools)

    • Adaptive Social Protection Systems

    • Climate Finance & Public Budgeting (budget tagging, expenditure tracking)

    • Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)

  • Proven experience in team management.

  • Existing working relationships with government bodies, multilateral and donor agencies, think tanks, and industry stakeholders will be an advantage.
