Are you a BFSI professional looking to drive impact at scale? At MSC, we empower financial institutions with cutting-edge strategies in digital banking, financial inclusion, risk management, product design, business planning, digital transformation and regulatory compliance. We are looking for experienced BFSI experts to join our team and help global banks, postal networks, and NBFCs navigate the evolving financial landscape.

The Senior Manager is responsible for contributing to the achievement of MSC’s objectives by delivering exemplary client work and supporting development of the Capability/ Sector s/he is part of. The primary focus of this role is to provide a service to clients by responding to the needs of specific projects and situations. Senior Manager will lead assignments typically focused on technical support to clients predominantly within the Banking Financial services and Insurance capability. The Senior Manager will also provide on-going support and guidance to junior staff within their area of responsibility to ensure that they deliver their roles to an appropriate level of quality and according to the approaches and frameworks set out by MSC. Senior Manager will build a strong knowledge and expertise in core areas of MSC’s client delivery work and specialize in the work of a particular Practice or Domain. All staff are responsible for exemplifying and promoting MSC’s vibrant organizational culture.

Detailed Responsibilities:

Business Development
  • Assist in identification, communication and negotiation of business opportunities
  • Build relationships with existing and potential clients in banking, postal network, Microfinance institutions, government bodies (such as RBI, DFS, IBA etc)
  • Take initiatives to develop and enhance communication with clients to strengthen client relationships
  • Develop and submit proposals to generate business – particularly for the BFSI capability and postal networks
  • Represent MSC at conferences, workshops, events etc.
  • Author /Co-author of thematic publications capturing innovative ideas /new trends, future of the sector etc.
  • Actively engage in Marketing Activities and participate in Digital Media dialogs linking MSC work and Publications.
Human Capital Development
  • Conduct “Quality of Delivery” or feedback assessments with team members after assignment execution, in line with the quality control guidelines. Conduct thorough reviews of the deliverables before submitting them to the client to ensure high-quality work.
  • Assist and support the development of other staff by providing guidance and advice where appropriate.
  • Share knowledge with staff and create opportunities for mentoring.
  • Deep knowledge of the banking and financial inclusion sector, specifically in India, encompassing credit, savings, and regulatory guidelines for various types of banks, as well as the needs of rural segments. Understanding of the social sector and its operational framework.
  • A good understanding of the banking ecosystem in the Southeast Asia or African region is beneficial.

Business Execution

  • Lead the planning and implementation of assignment involving project teams within the sector and capability
  • Lead assignment set-up and de-briefing meetings for allocated assignments
  • Lead assigned tasks as outlined in the program. Look for replicating the success of projects with other clients across geographies. Work towards planning new assignments with the client.
  • Quality control training courses delivered, research papers prepared, curriculum developed and technical assistance provided to clients.
  • Conduct “Client Feedback” calls after the completion of assignments.
  • Contribute to the development of MSC’s toolkits and other publications.


Requirements

BTech, MBA or Masters in economics or public policy or related field.
