Roles and Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of technical assistance to clients while ensuring high quality of delivery and strict
Adherence to timelines.
Support business development for GESI thematic areas in India, Asia, Africa, and the Pacific.
Mentor junior team members and help them in their professional development.
Contribute to organizational development by being a team player and upholding organizational culture, values, and reputation.
Develop and publish knowledge resources by identifying key issues, lessons learned, and best practices in programs and projects undertaken with different clients and geographies.
Openness and willingness to travel and spend over 50% of the time on on-site assignments.
Business development
Build relationships with existing and potential clients
Develop and create business initiatives on gender equality and social inclusion across geographies.
Take initiative to develop client relationships and increase business networks.
Develop and submit proposals to generate business.
Represent MSC at conferences, workshops, convenings, etc.
Author or co-author thematic publications to be developed from field experiences.
Actively engage in marketing activities and participate in digital media dialogues.
Business execution
Assist with the planning and implementing medium/large technical assistance assignments.
Support consulting projects on women’s financial inclusion, economic empowerment, and other GESI thematic areas.
Support coordination between different country teams on gender and provide strategic and design inputs to MSC projects to ensure that gender issues are appropriately identified and addrssed.
Manage strategic partnerships with stakeholders, especially those working towards gender equality in the financial services sector.
Conduct assignment setup and debriefing meetings of assignments where s/he is responsible
Builds rapport with various contact points at the client organization to successfully execute the
assignments.
Plan and execute assignments with utmost due diligence.
Oversee and support the process of report writing and data analysis.
Contribute to the development of MSC’s toolkits and other publications.
Human capital development
Document and communicate best practices emerging from MSC’s gender work, including developing
knowledge products such as sectoral reports, policy briefs, and technical notes for policymakers and practitioners in the gender space.
Assist and support the development of other staff by providing guidance and advice where appropriate
Share knowledge with staff and create opportunities for mentoring.
Take ownership of selfdevelopment by acquiring skills and knowledge that add value to the
organization
Requirements
Master's in Gender Studies/Developmental Economics, or equivalent, or other relevant professional qualifications, as in line with areas of specialization.
A minimum of 4 years of practical experience in the field of gender equality and gender mainstreaming
Demonstrated expertise in mainstreaming gender in projects and programs, preferably in the public sector.
Experience in gender programming, including research, project design, implementation, and management. Experience in women’s economic empowerment, care economy, gender and climate change, and gender digital divide is preferred.
Ability to formulate gender-responsive indicators for a wide range of sectors.
Familiarity with gender analysis tools and methodologies, quantitative and qualitative research, and analysis.
Additional Areas of Experience Required:
Experience in research, consulting, and advising clients, especially in the public sector.
Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills, including flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure and independently while meeting deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, writing skills, and presentation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
