Enterprise & livelihood

MSC’s work in enterprise and livelihoods drives inclusive, sustainable, and resilient development across Asia and Africa. Our focus spans MSME development, community and livelihoods, youth, skills and jobs, and WASH. MSC partners with governments, donors, financial institutions, and private-sector actors to design and implement practical solutions that address systemic barriers to growth and inclusion. We strengthen ecosystems through policy reforms, access to finance and markets, gender and social inclusion, and digital and climate innovations. We also create market-linked, future-ready pathways to employment and entrepreneurship for marginalized populations.

What we do

MSME development

We engage with donors, investors, financial institutions, and enterprise support organizations and work to bridge the widening gaps that hold back MSMEs’ growth.

Community and livelihood

MSC works to reduce economic vulnerability, especially in rural and peri-urban areas. We build livelihood support across agriculture, handicrafts, and non-farm enterprises, with an emphasis on resilience and climate adaptation.

Youth

MSC works to make financial services accessible to youth in rural areas, youth engaged in informal employment, and young people from low- and moderate-income segments.

Skilling and jobs

We partner with governments, development agencies, and private sector actors to design inclusive skilling ecosystems, strengthen institutions, and shape future-ready policies and programs.

Water, sanitation, and hygiene

MSC’s advisory work in WASH includes sector assessments and policy reviews. We support the design of effective service delivery processes, develop tailored financial products, and embed gender mainstreaming in WASH services.
