Manager

Akanksha Sen, is a Manager at MSC. She brings more than five years of cross-sector experience in impact evaluation, data science, and human-centered research for development. She applies interdisciplinary approaches to design and implement evidence systems that drive adaptive learning, inclusive innovation, and scalable social impact. Her work spans critical sectors, such as tuberculosis control, maternal and child health (MNCH), agriculture, gender equity, and MSME development. Akanksha has worked with governments, international NGOs, technology-driven initiatives, and donor agencies, which include GIZ, USAID, the Gates Foundation, and Google. These organizations support programs across Asia and Africa.

Akanksha’s core strengths include:

  • Design and implementation of impact evaluations using RCTs, difference-in-differences (DiD), and propensity score matching (PSM);
  • Development of monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning (MERL) systems, which include Theory of Change(ToC), indicator frameworks, and real-time performance tracking tools;
  • Mixed-methods research that blends rigorous quantitative analysis with qualitative, user-centered inquiry;
  • Integration of design thinking and human-centered approaches for digital innovation and program design;
  • Capacity building and stakeholder engagement with central and state governments, implementers, and donors.

Akanksha has contributed to both formative and summative evaluations that embed real-time learning loops into complex program cycles. Her work is grounded in a deep commitment to evidence-informed policy and systems thinking. This enables development actors to translate data into useful decisions for long-term change.
