George Muruka was an Associate Partner with MSC.

George Muruka led the Private Sector domain in MSC Africa. He has 16 years of experience in development work including research, financial services operations, and product development in East and West Africa. He worked with MSC from August 2008 till March 2019. George’s work focuses on improving people’s livelihoods through enhanced access to finance and related services through the creation of private sector-driven enterprises and solutions in agriculture, water, and sanitation, energy, and housing sectors. He is trained in international development, business strategy, market research and analysis, financial product development, and project management. Prior to joining MSC, George has been an Associate Consultant with K-Rep Advisory Services, a Research and Evaluations Manager at K-Rep Development Agency, and a Research Executive at Research International Ltd. He has a master’s degree in research in international development and a bachelor’s degree in community development. He has completed certifications and short courses in financial inclusion and project management. George has traveled across Africa, Belgium, Denmark, India, the Philippines, the UK, and the USA. He is proficient in English and Kiswahili.
