Essential Skills

The candidate should have good knowledge of running and managing digital platforms and solutions and have a preliminary understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements. They should be able to use data analysis tools to make informed decisions and track key performance metrics. Should have experience working with customers and ensuring their needs are met. Experience with the low-and middle-income (LMI) segment will be beneficial. The candidate should be well-versed in the latest policies, interventions, and conversations around the digital economy.

Description

The Manager – Digital Development will be involved in designing, implementing, and monitoring digital focused projects by MSC’s Digital Inclusive Development (DID) team. The position will be part of MSC’s DID team’s Financial Sector Practice and Policy (FSPP) practice. key focus of this roll will be to:

  • Support consulting projects on digital development and impact assessment
  • Coordinate with different country teams on digitization, inclusive digital models, and upcoming trends in digital development. The Manager should provide strategic and design inputs to MSC projects to ensure the latest digital interventions are deployed to catalyze development
  • Document and communicate best practices from MSC’s FSPP work and help develop knowledge products, such as sectorial reports, policy briefs, and technical notes for policymakers and practitioners in the digital space
  • Manage strategic partnerships with stakeholders, especially with those who work for digital equality and rights in the financial services sector
  • Develop and create business initiatives to enhance financial inclusion and the use of financial services and products, especially among women and people from the low-and middle-income (LMI) segments. Also, support work to strengthen the FSPP team’s work in the digital divide, digital access, availability, and adoption
  • Support in the development of products, processes, and frameworks on UI/UX and digital model GRMs relevant to the LMI segment
  • Provide technical assistance and support to other development or inclusive finance projects or assignments and support the teams..

The Manager– Digital Development will have responsibilities that will include:

Business Development

  • Build relationships with existing and potential clients in the payments and distribution domain such as banks, mobile financial service providers, mobile network operators, fintechs, startups, and government think-tanks and regulators,
  • Take initiatives to develop client relationships to develop a pipeline of projects in the digital finance sector,
  • Develop and submit proposals to generate business for the domain,
  • Represent MSC at conferences etc.
  • Author / co-author of thematic publications to be developed from field experiences (Focus notes/briefing notes)
  • Actively engage in marketing activities such as workshops, international events, and plenary discussions.

Human Capital Development

  • Conduct ‘Quality of Delivery’/feedback assessments with team members after assignment execution in line with the quality control guidelines,
  • Assist and support development of other staff by providing guidance and advice where appropriate,
  • Take ownership of self-development by acquiring skills and knowledge which add value to the organization.

Business Execution

  • Participate in assignment set-up and de-briefing meetings of assignments in the Payments and Distribution domain,
  • Lead teams of 3 to 4 members in assignments under supervision, which will include market visits,
  • Lead and contribute to the process of report writing and data analysis,
  • Execute assignments with utmost diligence, attention to detail and focus on quality,
  • Assist in the review of training courses delivered, research papers prepared, curriculum developed and technical assistance provided to clients of the P&D domain,
  • Assist in organizing national-level events and workshops for MSC, Bangladesh,
  • Contribute to the development of MSC’s toolkits and other publications.


Requirements

Qualification:

  • MBA or equivalent/other relevant professional qualifications in line with areas of specialization.

Desired skills and competencies:

  • Should have experience in digital and platform-related assignments is mandatory, especially in the area of product development and impact assessment, especially research, project design, implementation, management, and evaluation
  • Experience in compilation, analysis, and interpretation of statistical data, thorough research, and preparation of top-quality analysis and reports
  • Familiarity with program management for Tech Transformation Initiatives such as, migration to cloud, major software upgrade across platform
  • Experience of working with the financial sector, development banks, and the government, think-tanks is desirable
  • Experience working with digital platforms and tools, such as loan origination systems, underwriting platforms, and risk management software.
